A Space for What Lives Beneath Words
If you’ve been searching for a creative way to explore change, a growing sense of unease or something that won’t quite shift, these one to one private sessions offer a different way of approaching what’s been difficult to move through.
A psychotherapy-informed creative space for change, transition and connection.
Many people arrive here carrying something, a life shift, anxiety that won’t settle, grief, past trauma, or simply a sense that something inside is asking for space.
My background in psychotherapy and somatic practice shapes how this space is held.
For some, it complements traditional therapy. For others, it becomes the doorway that allows something to finally move. Sometimes in silence, sometimes in reflection, always with me there to support you in noticing and holding what is unfolding.
If you are navigating any of the following then these private sessions may well be for you:
Anxiety that doesn’t seem to settle.
Grief that hasn’t fully moved.
Past trauma that still feels present in the body.
A significant life transition.
A growing sense of disconnection to yourself and others.
Emotional overwhelm that is difficult to put into words.
A desire to explore something deeper than talking therapy alone allows.
A quiet sense that something inside is ready to shift.
Why I chose to work with creativity rather than talking therapy alone
After years of working in therapeutic spaces, I began to notice that while talking therapy can be helpful, sometimes words circle our experiences rather than shift them, but when we move beyond conversation and into creating, something different happens.
Our nervous system responds. Emotion finds form, and what has been carried internally begins to externalise, helping recurring patterns and cycles become visible and creating the possibility for something different to emerge.
Practical Details
Each confidential session is held in my private studio in Whitley Bay, just outside of Newcastle.
You do not need to be good at art.
And you do not need to be good at talking.
We work with whatever needs to emerge, so that what has felt circular can become visible, and what has felt stuck can begin to shift.
You do not need skill. You do not need to produce something polished. You only need a willingness to enter the process.
Sessions can be experienced as a one-off, a short series, or an ongoing exploration.
If you’ve been considering art therapy, talking therapy or counselling but are looking for something more embodied and spacious, this may be the right space for you.

ONE TO ONE ART SESSIONS
Exploring Art as a Doorway
This isn’t an alternative to talking therapy.
It’s another way into understanding yourself, one that allows your body and nervous system to be part of the process, not just your mind.
We begin by talking a little about what’s been present for you, before moving into a more relaxed, creative state, allowing what needs to emerge for you through art.
The art-making then has space to flow instinctively, guided by sensation rather than thought.
Once the art has emerged, we reflect together on how it may be speaking to your life, and how that understanding might be integrated moving forward.
This is a confidential, one-to-one space.
No previous experience of art needed.
Nothing that arises is too much to be met.
I hold the space throughout the session, drawing on my background in somatic practice and psychotherapy so you can gain a different perspective on your past, discover how it impacts your present and gain insight to the direction your life could take next.
One Hour Session
Approx 55–60 minutes • £88
Extended Session
A slower, more spacious session with time to settle into the process more fully.
For those who want room for deeper exploration, more time creating, and space for more reflection and integration.
Approx 90 – 100 minutes • £128
Both sessions can be experienced as a one-off, as part of an ongoing deeper exploration of yourself through art, or as a doorway into the open studio sessions. Some people come once at a particular moment in their life. Others return regularly, allowing the work to unfold over time. You are welcome to come as you need.
